Robert “Bubby” Lewis Gets Funky With the VB-99

Robert “Bubby” Lewis is not only an incredibly talented composer, he is also a killer bass player. In this video, Bubby gets funky as he demonstrates one of his favorite patches in the Roland VB-99 V-Bass System.

Aside from being a touring musician, Bubby also produces and composes music for Marvel comics and FUNimation Entertainment. As a bass player, the VB-99 provides a wide spectrum of sounds that allow him to produce music without restrictions. Brittani limits the use of technology in terms of sampling and pre-recorded tracks on her album and relies on her organic musical abilities. Robert “Bubby” Lewis is not only an incredibly talented composer, he is also an amazing bass player. When Bubby isn’t composing for anime and television, he gigs with Lupe Fiasco. In this video, Bubby explains his custom, GK-3B ready bass, how he uses it to control the Roland VB-99 V-Bass System and how expressive the V-Bass system can be.
