BOSS In Motion

Bourbon County High School Band

The world’s largest BOSS DB-88 metronome was featured in the field show of the Bourbon County High School in Kentucky. Bourbon County’s Marching Colonels’ placed first in the AAA Division East state competition, finishing 2nd for the state. Bourbon County’s field show is entitled “Motion.”

One of the unique features of the DB-88 is that it features a woman’s voice counting “1-2-3-4” so your students always know where one is. Bourbon County’s field show, entitled Motion, begins when a rifle hits the start button of the huge BOSS DB-88 metronome. True to form, the woman’s voice counts from the PA system “1-2-3-4” and the field show begins. Periodically through-out the show, the disembodied voice counts again. The prop was built (as all good props are) by a handy band parent and has gained the attention of Roland affliates world-wide. “I admit I never thought I’d see a DB-88 the size of a car on a football field.” laugh’s Paul Youngblood, President of BOSS.

Here’s a bit of trivia for you. The voice of the woman counting is the voice of Stephanie Fisher, wife of Roland’s Electronic Percussion Manager, Steve Fisher. Stephanie Fisher is also the assistant to Dennis Houlihan, President of Roland US.

Congratulations Bourbon County Colonels. We knew the DB-88 was popular with schools…but we never knew it was this BIG.
