ROLAND PIANOS & ORGANS DIVISION WIN TOP AWARDS
Diverse Range of Products Recognized for Quality and Innovation
Los Angeles, CA, February 5, 2009 — The Pianos & Organs division of Roland Corporation was honored with top awards at the 2009 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.
The V-Piano™ was widely recognized as a breakthrough in digital piano technology and earned the coveted “Best in Show” award. “This is an unbelievable sound. The first time I heard it, I said it’s like sticking your head inside a Steinway D,” raves panelist Greg Billings of Steinway Piano Gallery. “If you thought the V-Drums® revolutionized electronic drums or the V-Guitar [revolutionized guitars], this is beyond.”
The C-30 Digital Harpsichord also earned “Best in Show” recognition for its realism and affordable price point in a niche category. “It is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Roland really got it right. It feels like a harpsichord,” says panelist Liane Rockley of Rockley Music. “We only had it in the store for 48 hours before the Boulder [Colorado] Chamber Orchestra bought it.”
The FP-7 Digital Portable Keyboard received the Musical Merchandise Review Dealer’s Choice award as “Pro Digital Piano Line of the Year”. “A wide selection of sounds and features makes Roland's FP-7 a winner in this category. Now bundling Cakewalk SONAR LE, the FP-7 offers end users even more versatility,” say the editors of MMR.
“We are thrilled that our division was so widely recognized at this year’s NAMM show,” says Product Manager Chris Halon. “It is great to see the public and our dealers embracing the quality and ingenuity that Roland products have to offer.”
