ROLAND CORPORATION US SPONSORS SCION KING OF THE BEATS CONTEST

Los Angeles, September 8, 2006—Roland Corporation U.S. is proud to announce they are the premiere musical instrument sponsor for Scion's King of the Beats Contest--the only contest that pits music producer against music producer for the coveted King Of The Beats title.

This summer, Scion and hip-hop A&R legend Dante Ross searched the United States for the best chop/beat/snare makers in the country. Submissions were accepted from every corner of the U.S. as beat gurus competed to get to stage one of the competition: The Producer Battles.

Eight beat smiths have officially been selected to engage in regional fights in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York. After three rounds of competition at each venue, famous beat acts such as Wu-Tang's Raekwon and Big Daddy Kane will take the stage to keep the parties live.

Prize packages include award-winning Roland products such as the MV-8000 Production Studio, SP-404 Sampling Workstation, SH-201 Synthesizer, Fantom-X7 and Juno-G Workstation Keyboards.

Regional Producer Battles will take place live and onstage at the following venues:
