Roland Teams with Berklee College of Music

Los Angeles, California, September 2, 2005—Roland is proud to announce that it has recently supported the Berklee College of Music by providing the institution with prize-winning products from the Roland product line.

Founded in 1945, Berklee College of Music is the world’s largest independent music college and the premier institution for the study of contemporary music. The college’s 3,800 students and 460 faculty members interact in an environment designed to provide the most complete learning experience possible, including all of the opportunities and challenges presented by a career in the contemporary music industry.

As the leading institution for Music Education in the country, Berklee prizes itself on staying abreast of the latest digital music technology.

Berklee Vice President for Information Technology David Mash relates, “The Roland gear has been utilized in our Professional Writing Division, Music Synthesis Department, as well as in our Performance Division and it has worked really well for us. It is wonderful to be able to work so closely with different musical instrument manufacturers. In 2005, Roland Corporation provided the institution with 17 Fantom-XR Synthesizers, 10 XV-2020 expandable synth modules and 55 Roland GI-20 GK-MIDI interface units in 2005.
