Jermaine Dupri Embraces the Roland MV-8000 Production Studio

Ultimate Studio Solution Breaking Ground on Tracks Nationwide

Los Angeles, California, March 22, 2005—Jermaine Dupri, one of the most prolific and decorated producers in the industry recently visited the Roland Corporation headquarters in Los Angeles, California to talk to the Roland team about his success with the MV-8000 all-in-one production studio. Two years ago Roland released the digital solution to the world. In January 2005 the company continued its expansion of the award-winning MV-8000 platform with the release of Version 3 software.

Dupri was one of the first artists to champion the new MV-8000 technology when it first rolled off the line in July 2003. When asked what it was about the production studio that initially attracted him to the box Dupri related, "I was curious to see it because I use a lot of different machines to get to the final product. Seeing that this machine had a lot of things built into one unit made me really curious and interested in it."

Since its inception, the MV-8000 has won favor with producers around the planet—especially in the R&B, hip-hop, and dance music camps. With its tactile front panel covered in trigger pads, buttons, mixing sliders, and knobs, and with its ability to interface with an external video monitor for computer-like visual editing, the MV-8000 set a new standard in hardware-based music production.

Today the MV-8000's evolving feature set continues to boost its popularity. When asked what excited him most about the new V.3 update Dupri related, "If you're a young producer like I was when I first started out, you can't afford the engineer. That's the story for a lot of us, that's how we start. You can use the MV-8000 without having your own engineer and you can do it right at your own place. Also, I like the ability to assign separate effects to each pad. Drum machines of the past don't have that ability. I'm definitely impressed with the new software."
