GREG RULE JOINS ROLAND MARKETING TEAM

Los Angeles, February 18, 2004—Roland is proud to announce that it has recruited Greg Rule as Writer/Editor of Marketing Communications. In addition to his role as writer/editor Rule will also be at the helm of the recently redesigned Roland Users Group magazine.

Greg Rule comes to Roland direct from a successful 14-year tenure with the Music Player Network, where he served as Editor In Chief of Keyboard magazine and Executive Editor of EQ. Over the course of his stay with MPN, Greg and his editorial team produced many award-winning issues, and garnered a trophy-case full of prestigious publishing industry honors — the most recent being Folio’s 2003 silver Ozzie for Best Redesign. While on staff with Keyboard, Greg penned the paperback Electro Shock, Groundbreaker of Synth Music (Miller Freeman Books), which chronicled the rise and fall of synth-based music during the ’80s and ’90s.

In addition to his journalistic pursuits, Greg has made a mark as a music composer, producer, and remixer. His credits include a #1 spot on the Billboard Hot Dance Breakout chart, a gold record, and a pair of Silver AXIEM awards (Absolute eXcellence In Electronic Media) for his musical work with the World Channel television network. For the past five years Greg has served as a voting member of NARAS, the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences.
