BOSS ANNOUNCES NEW OC-3 SUPER OCTAVE
Ultra-Stable Octave Effects Including New Polyphonic Mode
Nashville, July 18, 2003—BOSS is proud to announce the OC-3 Super Octave, the world’s first compact pedal with polyphonic octave effects, along with a new Drive mode for overdriven octave sounds. The versatile OC-3 works with guitar or bass, and includes the original octave sound of the best-selling BOSS OC-2 Octave pedal. The OC-3 uses advanced DSP technology to create ultra-stable octave effects, including a new Polyphonic Octave mode. This allows guitarists to add octave sounds even when playing chords—a first in a compact pedal. More aggressive sounds can be had using the Drive mode, which adds a touch of distortion to the octave sounds. An OC-2 mode is also provided, giving guitarists the same classic “dual octave” sounds made famous in the popular OC-2 pedal. Using this mode, up to three tones can be blended: the original note, a note one octave below and another two octaves below. And like the other modes, the OC-2 effects benefit from improved stability, giving guitarists rock-solid octaves with incredible tracking.
Guitar players, however, aren’t the only ones who can take advantage of the OC-3. By connecting a bass guitar to the dedicated Bass input, the OC-3 automatically optimizes its effects to suit the range of a bass. Now guitar and bass players can upgrade to the advanced octave effects of the OC-3.
Connections to the OC-3 include dedicated 1/4-inch Guitar and Bass inputs, a 1/4-inch output and separate 1/4-inch Direct output, plus an AC inlet for use with an optional BOSS PSA-Series AC Adaptor.
