ROLAND LEADS THE PACK WITH OS X COMPATIBILITY
Los Angeles, Calif. June 19, 2003—Roland Corporation is proud to announce its ongoing commitment to supporting Mac OS X in 2003. The company recently announced several updates and new products that are compatible with Apple's next-generation operating system."We're excited to support Mac OS X and are looking forward to developing additional products with OS X compatibility later this year," comments Roland Groove Product Manager Jim Norman. "The Apple OS X system offers musicians the optimum environment for music-making. With these new drivers Roland is able to offer customers access to the unprecedented stability and creative tools that have made OS X the platform of choice."
In addition to releasing OSX audio drivers for the M-1000 10-channel Digital Line Mixer and an OSX version of V-Producer for VariOS, nearly all Edirol audio cards, MIDI interfaces and controllers are ready for OS X.
"Many musicians today are purchasing Macs that only boot in OS X," remarks Norman. "This was leaving many of them out in the cold when it came to Mac compatibility. Many musicians I spoke with were becoming increasingly frustrated. I'm thrilled we have taken it upon ourselves to eliminate that hurdle."
