A Great Way to Expand the Capabilities of Acoustic Drum Kits

Anaheim, Calif., Jan. 16, 2003—Roland is proud to announce a new line of acoustic drum triggers—the RT-7K Kick Trigger, RT-5S Snare Trigger and RT-3T Tom Trigger. Featuring rock-solid construction, superior sensor construction and no-hassle installation, Roland’s Acoustic Trigger Units offer drummers a convenient way to tap into the world of electronic percussion.

By installing the RT-7K, RT-5S and RT-3T Acoustic Trigger Units, acoustic drummers can connect directly into the Trigger inputs of compatible drum modules like Roland’s V-Drum modules and SPD-Series pads—no additional hardware is required. And when coupled with the Roland TMC-6 Trigger MIDI Converter (sold separately), drummers can play any MIDI sound module or sampler from their acoustic kit, or even interface with sequencers.

All three of Roland’s Acoustic Trigger Units are built to withstand the most aggressive playing and can be easily installed or removed without damaging the drum set; high-quality sensors maintain the kit’s natural acoustic sound. In fact, both the RT-5S Snare Trigger and RT–7K Kick Trigger feature sensor technology borrowed from Roland’s acclaimed V-Pads to capture the most delicate nuances of a drummer’s playing. The RT-5S also supports separate head/rim triggering, and works with acoustic and mesh heads.
