‘THE PIANO GUY’ WINS TWO EMMYS
Popular PBS Series Underwritten by Roland Corporation
Los Angeles, CA, September 30, 2009 — Roland Corporation U.S. is proud to congratulate Scott Houston and his critically acclaimed PBS series, The Piano Guy, on winning two Emmy Awards on July 25 by the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
The series received an Emmy in the Instructional/Informational Program and Program Host categories. The awards are numbers three and four for The Piano Guy as the show received two prior wins in 2007.
“I am truly honored,” said host Scott Houston. “It's such a thrill for our show to continue to be recognized in this very special way. The Piano Guy has always been a great team effort.”
“We are all extremely proud of these Emmy wins,” producer RJ Cavallaro added. “They are a testament to the exceptional work of our talented crew at Mills James. But none of this would be possible without our sponsors Roland U.S., Petrof Pianos, and NAMM. They too deserve recognition for their continued dedication and support of the show.”
Designed to take the mystery out of learning to play piano, The Piano Guy has become a ritual for recreational music makers and music lovers across the country and around the world. In the same way the current wave of home improvement and gourmet cooking shows have taken the intimidation out of those hobbies, the series continues to inspire millions of viewers to have fun playing the piano at whatever level they choose.
The Piano Guy airs on public television stations throughout the United States. For more information about the show, visit http://www.scottthepianoguy.com.
