V-Drums History
Roland has become the leading electronic-drum maker on the planet. Here's how the magic happened.
Taking the V-Tour™ Series V-Drums® to the Next Level
The newest member of the V-Drums family combines the versatile TD-6V Percussion Sound Module with upgraded components, such as a 10" dual-trigger mesh-head snare V-Pad™, 8" mesh-head tom V-Pads, CY-5 hi-hat pad, and the CY-12R/C V-Cymbal® with separate bell triggering for the ride. Get the playability of an advanced V-Drum set in an affordable package.
The TD-6SXT is packaged in two separate boxes as follows.
TD-6V
The brain of the TD-6SXT is the TD-6V Percussion
Sound Module. Sporting a stylish black look and cool blue LCD screen,
the 64-voice module serves up 1,024 of Roland’s best drum and
percussion sounds and 262 backing instruments, with drum kits and
patterns in the latest music styles. Large,
luminous buttons make the TD-6V easy to use.
V-Pads
The TD-6SXT includes Roland’s popular PD-105 10"
mesh V-Pad for the snare, featuring dual-trigger capability for playing
separate head and rim sounds. Three PD-85 8" mesh V-pads for the toms
offer a natural feel for more expressive play.
V-Cymbals
The majority of the TD-6SXT’s pads and
components mount conveniently onto the bundled MDS-6SL+ rack, including
the three cymbal pads: a CY-8 and CY-12R/C (which enables separate bell
triggering), and CY-5 Hi-Hat Pad. Thanks to the FD-8 Hi-Hat Controller,
drummers can get more realistic hi-hat sounds with smooth transitions
between open and closed.
Kick Trigger
Drummers will appreciate the TD-6SXT’s
upright KD-8 kick drum trigger. The vertical design not only gives
drummers a better feel compared to reverse-type kick triggers, but it
also reduces unwanted vibration, so you get nothing but solid kick
sounds. And here’s more good news: The KD-8 can even accommodate double
bass pedals!
8-inch rubber trigger pad.
8-inch dual-zone V-Pad featuring dual-triggering technology.
With eyes closed, drummers will think they’re playing a regular two-piece hi-hat.
Featuring a 12-inch playing zone and swing movement for more drummer-friendly triggering.
A crash cymbal with swinging motion.
A multi-purpose 12-inch V-Cymbal for ride/crash.
A 14-inch crash cymbal with swinging motion and choke capability.
