VS-1824CD, VS-1880, VS-1680: Drive Select

The hard drive is divided into sections known as partitions. Each partition is labeled as an "IDE:?" Depending on the model and hard drive installed, you may find that you are only using a portion of your entire hard drive. To determine the size, you can use DRIVE SELECT, which is how you are able to switch between partitions of your hard drive and use the maximum amount of HD space available.

Each "IDE" is known as a partition,(Section) of your HD which can be used. Each partition could be considered an independant HD, and you can only work on one IDE "drive" at a time, but you can copy songs from one partition to another using SONG COPY PLAYABLE and selecting which partition for the destination drive.

1- Hold SHIFT and press F6 (UTILITY)
2- Press the PAGE button so you are on PAGE-2
3- On the VS-1880 or VS-1824, press F2 (DRIVE SELECT).
For the VS-1680 you press F4 (DRIVE SELECT). On the
top left side of the screen you will see IDE listed and
size of HD formatted in GIGS. The top right of the
screen displays the current partition selected.
On the left side of the screen you will see the number
of partitions available listed like 0/1/2... Depending
on the size of your Hard Drive.
4- Turn the dial to highlight the partition you want to
switch to.
5- Press F4 (EXECUTE).
6- Press ENTER/YES to resond to "Change current drive to
IDE:?"
7- Press ENTER/YES to respond to "STORE CURRENT".
