The BR Wav Converter software (or "BRWC") provides an easy and fast way to convert BR tracks into .WAV files that can be used on your computer and to convert WAV files into tracks you can use on your BR. Your BR recorder can do these functions internally through Import/Export, however, the BR Wav Converter does this procedure on your computer instead of within the BR, speeding the process. The Wav Converter will also work on a BR recorder with a full memory card, which the Export function will not. You may download the BR WAV Converter software using the link below:
Here's how to use the software:
Exporting V-Tracks from the BR as WAV Fiiles
1. Put the BR into USB Backup mode by plugging the USB cable into your BR.
2. Connect the USB cable to your computer. The BR appears on your computer with a drive letter (ie: E: or F:) You can close any windows that open, but you’ll need to know this drive letter in Step 4.
3. Run the BR WAV Converter by double-clicking it.
Note: The BRWC is given to you in a .zip or .sit file which you'll need to extract before use.
4. Using the Drive pulldown menu in the top left-hand corner of the screen, select the drive letter you saw for the BR in Step 2.
5. Using the Song pulldown menu, select the song you wish to work with.
At this point, you should see green squares on a grid. These green squares represent tracks in your song that have with audio on them. The columns (up and down) represent the tracks. The top square in each column is V-Track 1 and each row represents the other V-Tracks. In other words, the second square down in the first column is Track 1-V2.
6. If you wish to export a stereo pair of V-Tracks, click the L/R button at the bottom of the column you’re going to export. For example: If you bounced your song to 12V2, you would go to the bottom of Columns 1 and 2 and click the L/R button.
7. Click the V-Track(s) you wish to export to turn them orange. (If it’s a stereo track, make sure you’ve linked them using the L/R button we mentioned in Step 6.) You can also click the ALL button to select all V-Tracks.
8. Click EXPORT at the bottom left-hand corner.
9. Click GO.
10. Using the dropdown menu for SAVE IN, select the destination folder—if you’re unsure where to save the converted data, select DESKTOP.
11. Type a filename of your choice into the FILENAME box, and click SAVE.
That’s it! Now you’ve got a WAV file you can listen to on your computer, burn to a CD, or edit with your favorite software.
12. Close the BR Wav Converter software and make sure you use Safely Remove Hardware or Eject before removing the USB connection.
