Nailing the Auto-Tune Effect<\/h2>\n

Getting the auto-tune sound with the VE-5 is simple\u2014just dial up the effect called Pitch Correct. After that, you can choose from\u00a0a number of operation types for\u00a0everything from\u00a0subtle pitch correction\u00a0to the famous mechanical-sounding pitch change used in a lot of\u00a0current pop and R&B music.<\/p>\n

When set to Soft, the VE-5’s pitch correction\u00a0is smooth to gently\u00a0assist your singing. The next step up is Hard, which corrects the pitch a little more quickly. Electric 1\u00a0starts to get into\u00a0the strong\u00a0auto-tune special effect, correcting pitch variations with\u00a0a stair-step change. Finally, Electric 2 delivers a full-on\u00a0effect with even stronger correction than Electric 1. There’s also a final Pitch Correct type\u00a0called Robot, and you can guess what that makes your voice sound like!<\/p>\n

In addition to the operation types, Pitch Correct can also be set for chromatic correction or a specific scale\/key. You’ll want to experiment with these settings a bit to get the best results for your application.<\/p>\n

While it\u00a0may look unassuming, the VE-5 packs a lot of high-tech sound processing into a small device, as\u00a0the quality vocal effects are taken straight from BOSS\u2019 flagship VE-20 Vocal Performer<\/a>.<\/p>\n
