On September 9, 2016 (#909day), over 1000 people joined Roland at Six01 Studio in Burbank, California, for the final showcase of “The Future. Redefined.”, a first-of-its-kind 24-hour streaming music festival. Throughout the festival, leading music artists introduced over 30 brand-new Roland and BOSS products in performances from eight major cities around the world. The final stop in Burbank featured a live, five-hour concert with performances by 28 artists, including Linda Perry, Saint Motel, Echosmith, DJ Pierre, Judith Hill, She Wants Revenge, and many others.

Roland Partners with Lang Lang International Music Foundation for Piano Education on a Grand Scale

On May 10, Temple University hosted the first 101 Pianists concert and masterclass event of 2016 in Philadelphia, PA. Using 50 Roland pianos, 100 piano students from the local community performed together as a “piano orchestra” with acclaimed concert pianist Lang Lang. The Lang Lang International Music Foundation, together with the Philadelphia Orchestra, organized the educational event as part of the orchestra’s PlayIN series of programs, designed to encourage people of all ages to experience classical music as listeners or performers.

The Roland/BOSS spring gear tour recently landed in Chicago, where we teamed up with CIMMfest (the Chicago International Music & Movies Festival), a popular annual event that just celebrated its eighth year. During CIMMcon, the festival’s regional industry conference, we hosted an interactive musical instrument display within Galerie F, Chicago’s first street art and gig poster gallery. Located at the heart of the festival in Chicago’s historic Logan Square neighborhood, our display offered visitors a unique, hands-on opportunity to make music and interact with the latest Roland and BOSS instruments.

A Fun Time for All at Roland’s Backstage Artist Lounge

ACM_Marquee1 Roland and BOSS had a blast at our backstage artist lounge and gear “petting zoo” at the Academy of Country Music’s 4th Annual ACM Party for a Cause Festival. The three-day, two-stage charitable event in Las Vegas attracted nearly 50,000 music fans who enjoyed more than 30 acts from country music’s top names. This year, the festival took place April 1-3 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, and featured many top-tier acts plus full headline sets from Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, and Kenny Chesney. The weekend led up to the 51st Academy of Country Music Awards, which included Sam Hunt singing his hit “Make You Miss Me” while playing a custom-prepared white Roland V-Piano Grand.

Music Educators Discover the Benefits of Roland’s Leading Piano Technologies

Roland attended the recent 2016 MTNA (Music Teacher’s National Association) National Conference in San Antonio, Texas, where we displayed the LX-17, LX-7, and FP-30 Digital Pianos, as well as the C-30 Digital Harpsichord. These Roland piano models—the world’s first pianos equipped with Bluetooth technology—were also showcased at the Faber Piano Adventures booth, as led by influential piano educator Randall Faber.
